I found this cartoon that my mom gave me several years ago, and it is so close to reality that I just had to share it with you. Many of you know that we are big time “Love and Logic” parents, so the scene here rarely happens with our kids. Chip off the ol’ block, I guess, because I do not remember EVER talking my mom into anything! I do remember begging for Cocoa Puffs and Twinkies at the grocery store once, but I’m pretty sure that request was denied without delay.
I keep thinking my kids will get tired of begging and give it up. Sometimes they do, for a time, but they always come back to it eventually. It happens quite frequently at karate, where there is not only a vending machine, but also an honor box with candy. Brooklyn asks for money, and I say “no.” Then she asks me to remind her to bring her money next time we come, and I say “no.” I might be the meanest mom ever.
