In preparation for the upcoming lawn mowing, fertilizing, and weed pulling season, Robb and Glenn purchased a measuring wheel for the business. It has been a source of great amusement at our house already.
I snapped this picture of Ryan as he was using it today. He was determined to see how many feet he could rack up on the counter before our evening company arrived. It has 4 digits, so it goes to basically 10,000 feet. He walked around and around the kitchen. I was starting to think he would wear a hole in the floor.
Long story short, he did not make it to 10,000 ft. He did, however measure our 10×18 ft. kitchen enough times to get the wheel counter up to 1444 feet and 7 inches. (Ryan is sitting here with me as I write this, and he’s insisting I not forget the 7 inches!!)
He actually did not spend that much time measuring, but I have no doubt he has the tenacity to get the thing up to 9999 ft., 11 in. in one day. As he gets older, he is harder to shop for. He is no longer interested in building blocks and hot wheels cars. Dad’s tools are much more fascinating. Maybe he would like his own measuring wheel for his birthday!!
Oh, a quick PS to this story. Robb used the wheel to measure Ryan, and it said that he is 5 ft. 2 in. Hmmmm….. Let’s hope it is more acurate with horizontal measurements than the vertical type!
