This is a common sight, ever since we put new batteries in the Tamagatchi. Who can understand this toy? It is a small electronic, uhh… thing… on a keychain. It is a little pet that starts as an egg, incubates, grows through different stages of life, and if you’re lucky, reproduces. During it’s life, you can keep it happy by playing games with it, feeding it snacks, cleaning up it’s messes (oh yes, even pretend pets poop!), and giving it medical attention when needed. Only the Japanese could come up with a game like this.
Fresh batteries have produced a fresh interest in this toy, and Ryan and Brooklyn have been playing with theirs non-stop. (Quinn can’t find his or he would be joining them.) Ryan has been taking his to school, against the better judgement of his parents. Brooklyn loves to take hers to bed. The tamagatchi will never feel alone in Brooklyn’s bed, which is constantly full of books, toys, stuffed animals, art supplies, dirty clothes, even homework. The other night, we found her asleep with the toy in her mouth, of all places. It is attached to a keychain, and she had the keychain in her mouth, and the tamagatchi was dangling from it, and resting on the bed below her chin. I wonder how long it will be before the batteries run out again.
