Quinn was super excited when his friend invited him along on their family outing to see Brandon Mull in person.  For those of you who don’t know, Brandon Mull is the author of the Fablehaven series, which Quinn quite enjoys.  A few years ago, he actually visited our elementary school and talked about his books there.  Here is proof of the excursion:

And here is more proof:

Close Up of the Autograph, for Forging Purposes

I think they had a really good time.  In case you are wondering why Quinn is on the deck in the backyard posing for this picture, there is a story for that too.

I left to take Brooklyn to her choir performance at Barnes and Noble (my next post, I promise!)  I told Quinn that when he got home from the Brandon Mull thing, to just let himself in the back door, which I promised to leave open for him.  Of course, I then forgot to unlock the back door, so when he got home, he was locked out.  Fortunately, his friend’s family let him hang out there for a little while.  Anyway, Quinn decided that rather than take his now priceless paperback book with him to his friends, it would be safer to stash it on the back deck until we got home.  I’m really glad it didn’t rain.  (It’s rained almost every other day this week!)  So the deck is where we went to see the autograph and hear the story.

I think this will be a memorable day for Quinn!  It’s motivated him to re-read Fablehaven, in any case!
