The big Superbowl party was quite a success this year. We try to make a big deal about it, because poor Ryan loves sports and never has anyone to watch with. Lately, he has been going to watch big games at Grandpa’s house, a tradition which he loves. I talked Grandpa into inviting us over for Superbowl watching.
My dad made some barbeque chicken in the crock pot, which he shredded and put on hamburger buns. It was seriously delicious. I brought Triple Chocolate Chunk Cookies, and Dulce de Leche Cookies, and both were hits. I also made this Peanut Butter Popcorn, and the kids were really excited to eat it.
It’s funny the things the kids get excited for. Brooklyn was mostly excited to use a tv tray. I don’t own any tv trays, myself, so we never get to use them. My parents have nicer trays upstairs, but downstairs is where they keep the very old 70’s aluminum trays with flowers. Dan’s comment was “Guess which decade these are from?!” It was definitely a treat to eat dinner while sitting on the couch.
Most of us didn’t have strong feelings about either team, but Ryan was glad the Giants won. I loved how the commentator summed up the game, “There’s another Superbowl tape the Patriots do not want to watch!”
