For months now, Quinn has been involved in the school musical, Aladdin. He has really enjoyed staying after school, singing and dancing, acting on stage, and doing all this with his good buddy Kyle.
The play finally happened, and it’s all just a sweet memory now.
Quinn didn’t have a speaking part, just part of the “ensemble.” I was surprised at how much he loved this. He is constantly telling me how much he loves his acting class at school, and how much fun he had preparing the play. On opening day (Friday), they did some excerpts of the play in an assembly for the school. When Quinn got home from school that day, he reported, “That was SO FUN!! I wasn’t even nervous at all!” I just smiled. It was fun to see him so excited.
My pictures are quite horrible. I forgot to bring my good camera, so I had to make do with my phone, which was nearly out of battery and would only flash intermittently. Ugh.
After the play, many of the cast met up at Leatherby’s for ice cream, flirting, and dancing in front of the juke box. We had a front row seat, because they seated us right next to the juke box. Quinn wandered around, chatting with friends, and he ordered the biggest dish of ice cream in the known universe. Kyle had to help him eat it.
All in all, it was a fun night. We are thinking we might look for community theater opportunities for Quinn. Who knew he wanted to be the center of attention?
