2012 was a good year for the Stotts.
Because every year is a good year for the Stotts. (at least, that’s what we tell ourselves!)
Highlights from 2012 include:
January: I got a new camera, and started taking a ton of pictures of the family in January. Brooklyn also participated in Science Fair, and her project was called, “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?” The whole family also spoke in church, and Quinn found himself back in braces.
February: The highlight of our February was visiting with the Wrights who came down from Wyoming for Ava’s doctor appointment. They were here for Valentines, so we had a fun family celebration. Brooklyn and Robb also went the the Daddy-Daughter Valentine Dance.
March: Quinn performed in the school musical, “Aladdin,” which was a ton of fun to watch. The boys also had choir concerts this month, and Quinn actually passed Ryan in height.
April: The kids were excited that we got the trampoline back into working condition. They spent hours and hours all spring and summer on the tramp! We also had a piano recital in April, which we held at the Taylorsville-Bennion Heritage Center (my great-grandparents old family home) and the kids all did great.
May: May was a big month. We got our dog in May, and had a lot of getting used to to do! We also celebrated Mothers Day with lots of family around, Ryan’s 15th birthday, and saw some great spring choir concerts. Additionally, Quinn received his high red belt, which is the last rank before black belt.
June: Quinn turned 14 this year, and I traveled to Seattle for a food blogging conference.
July: The boys attended Youth Conference in July, we celebrated Brooklyn’s 11th birthday, and we made tie-dyed shirts with Grandma Roper on Pioneer Day.
August: We attended two family reunions in August: the Roper reunion at the Heber Girls Camp, and the Oleson reunion in the Big Horns. We left Quinn at scout camp during the Olsen reunion this year, and although he had a great time, we missed him terribly. Summer ended with a trip to Fast Kart for some go-kart racing. Quinn started high school, and Brooklyn entered her last year of elementary school, leaving Robb and I feeling really old.
September: A slow month, the highlight was getting some plums from Great Grandma Roper, and turning those into various dessert foods.
October: We spent lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa Brown while my parents were in Europe for Emily’s wedding. We also got a new (used) oven, when the old one bit the dust.
November: Quinn’s school class organized a 5K fundraiser, and we all participated. We discovered that we own next to zero athletic gear.
December: Ryan earns his high red belt, Ryan and Brooklyn both participated in fun Christmas concerts!
What a great year. We’re pretty sure 2013 will be even better!
